Chronically failed connections

Postby Assassin » Mon Jul 03, 2006 1:39 am

Since around the time of the hosting switch, I've been encountering a regular problem with the board. Connections will fail. I might click on a link or button, only to have the browser time-out rather than loading the new page. It doesn't happen a majority of the time, but is definitely a persistent minority. When I click again, it's usually fine, so it's not a huge problem. More common is that I'll load a page, and some of the images on it (e.g. emoticons, the buttons under users' posts) will fail to load. This happens with both Firefox and IE, and it hasn't happened to me on other sites.

It also happens on the main site, so I don't think the board software is to blame ( http://www.mnrogar.com/screenshots/index.htm is a good page to test).

Has anybody else experienced this? Not lethal, but bloody irritating..

It's not very 56K friendly.

Damn! I should definitely learn not to select "postreply" before "log in".

By the way, I would like to query about the status of the board clock. It's still off by approximately 22-23 minutes.

I believe it's because of the server we're freely hosted on that's old or something.

As for the clock I'm making inquiries.
